Alma Park Zoo
Alma Park Zoo offers a wide range of both Australian and exotic animals in their unique sub-tropical setting. You will find friendly kangaroos, koalas, emus, wombats, echidnas, possums, dingoes, red deer – just to name a few. You can feed animals, cuddle a koala and enjoy the award winning gardens spanning 20acres of land.
Lone Pine Koala Sanctuary
Lone Pine gives you the opportunity to cuddle a Koala, feed a kangaroo and meet many other Australian animals at the world’s largest koala sanctuary. Play with Emus, Wombats, Possums and Tasmanian Devils – well from a distance! Situated only 15 minutes out of the city, they combine a fun atmosphere with educational activities.
Australia Zoo - Crocodile Park
An afternoon full of excitement. You can come face to face with the reptiles of Australia including crocodiles. This is the home of Steve Irwin the Internationally know Crocodile Hunter. |

Aboriginal Adventure
A traditional Aboriginal afternoon of fun. Boomerang throwing, boomerang painting and aboriginal dance are only some of the activities done during this presentation. It is a hands-on activity that the participants can really be a part of.
Queensland Art Gallery and Museum
Based near Southbank Parklands, the Art Gallery and Museum offer a peaceful morning of amazing beauty. The Museum displays many dinosaurs and artifacts from the past, while the Art Gallery has modern, traditional and international art pieces for you to admire. Definitely a sight worth seeing.
Australian Cooking
Learn how to make some traditional Aussie favourites, Lamingtons, ANZAC cookies or pizza in the Kitchen at NIC
Australian Songs
Join our resident musician in a sing-a-long after learning some Australian songs such as “Tie Me Kangaroo Down Sport”, “Waltzing Matilda” and “Advance Australia Fair”. This afternoon is a great opportunity for the students to practice their performance for the graduation ceremony. |

Lazer Force at Woollongabba
A purpose built indoor arena where you run around and zap each other with laser guns. Great fun for people from 10 - 100. It is the most fun you can have in an hour.
Indoor Rock Climbing
Experience the thrill of rock climbing in a safe indoor environment. We visit a local indoor sports complex and taught and supervised by trained professionals, this activity is one of the most popular activities amongst the students. Suitable for boys or girls of any age – even those as young as 8 have taken part in this activity with excellent results.
Kayaking Tours
Designed for beginners; where safety is paramount. Enjoy the wonders of our natural surrounds as you are taken on a guided Sea Kayak Tour with our experienced guides. From the Boondall Wetlands; Sandgate or even Bribie Island.
Horse Riding
During the afternoon you will be taught how to ride a horse and be lead on a peaceful ride through some of the wonders of nature in the local forest at Slickers Horse Riding at Kurwongbah. |

A visit to the local indoor ice skating rink is an enjoyable activity even if you cannot skate. Students from beginner to advanced can have a great afternoon skating around with each other.
Roller Skating at Stafford
Spend a couple hours going around and around and around and then go back around and around and around the other way. We’ve got the skates and the music if you have the stamina.
Ten Pin Bowling at Chermside
See how many strikes you can get in 2 games. For a fun afternoon out guaranteeing a great time for all.
Nudgee Golf Club
With views of nature and open land, the outlook from this course is amazing. This 9 hole course is situated on the grounds of Nudgee International College.
Tennis and basketball at NIC
Enjoy the wonderful sports facilities on campus – one minutes walk from the students’ classrooms. Four all weather tennis courts and a basketball court together with a grass sports field
Mini Olympics
A real Australian sporting competition with a high element of fun. This is a team event guaranteed to brings lots of laughs. |

Tuchekoi Outdoor Centre
Established on 180 acres of rolling hills in a rural setting, Tuchekoi Outdoor Centre is on the edge of the Mary River Valley and Noosa Hinterland about one and a half hours north of Brisbane. Although it is so close to Brisbane, a major contributor to the popularity of Tuchekoi Outdoor Centre is the perceived remoteness of its location.
Activities include abseiling, climbing, canoeing, high and low rope courses, orienteering, obstacle courses, rafting and mini expeditions, All activities are organised by the centres training, experienced and enthusiastic staff. |

Brisbane City Sights and River Cruise
See the wonders of Brisbane. From the top of Mt Coot-tha to Southbank Parklands, the Brisbane River, the Botanic Gardens, Kangaroo Point, The Mall, China Town, to City Hall. You will be able to see it all. From here, jump aboard a City Cat, our local catamarans that travel along the Brisbane River daily and view Brisbane City from a totally unique view point.
Brisbane Forest Park
Take in the wonder of the beautiful Brisbane Forest Park. 28 500 hectares of bushland comprising national parks, state forests and council reserves. We’ll enjoy an afternoon barbeque, bushwalk and scenic drive.
Southbank
Take a stroll along the beautiful Southbank Parklands featuring a man made Beach (man made beach with swimming opportunities with lifeguards), barbeque and picnic shelters, restaurants from all over the world, takeaway food outlets, craft markets on Friday evenings, Saturdays and Sundays all 10 minutes from the city centre!”
Roma Street Parklands
The Roma St Parklands is 16 hectares of lush subtropical gardens located in the heart of Brisbane. The parkland features thousands of plant varieties, from native Australian plants to endangered species. There are also many water features and large grassy areas for some sports.”

this activity involves the students integrating with Australian students in a classroom situation. Generally the classes chosen are of a ‘hands on’ nature eg sports/art classes
Brisbane Botanical Gardens and Parliament House
These gardens are situated in the heart of the city but offer the quietest and lovely place to have a picnic, walk the tracks, ride a bike or just watch the world go by. The Mangrove Boardwalk is 400m and takes you right out onto the Brisbane River. The gardens are a display of rainforest, formal gardens, lily ponds, palm grove, hibiscus and camelia gardens so visit this gorgeous area and relax. Explore Queensland’s historical Parliament House located on luxurious parkland only minutes from the city centre. Tours are available for all visitors so students can learn about and see all areas of parliament.
Science Centre
Based in the centre of Brisbane City, the Science Centre offers a hands-on afternoon of scientific exploration. Science presentations and numerous puzzles proved the students with scientific explanations to everyday events.
Planetarium (Mount Cootha)
located 20 minutes to the west of the city surrounded by magnificent gardens the planetarium provides an insight into the secrets of the sky – see local star formations including the Southern Cross”.

BBQ and beach games at Settlement Cove/Redcliffe
Redcliffe is around 25 minutes north of Nudgee We can enjoy a good Aussie BBQ at the back of the beach. Students can play on the beach, paddle in the water, play games or relax under a shady tree. There is a large man made lagoon a short distance from here together with some shops. A great place to spend an afternoon!

Spend time at the home of the world’s largest producer of processed ginger, The Ginger Factory. Learn how ginger is processed and shop for the many products produced from it. From there visit the Big Pineapple which is a working plantation so you can actually see how pineapples and macadamias are grown and harvested. No day would be complete with out a visit to the Coast’s biggest bee, The Super Bee.

After the 1 hour scenic drive north to the Sunshine Coast, head to Underwater World where you will see some of the wonders of the Great Barrier Reef inside the amazing Living Ocean Large Viewing Aquariums which house corral and tropical fish.
Full day on Sunshine Coast (Option 3) – Eumundi Markets (on Wednesdays and Saturdays only) and Noosa Beaches
